What is Peace?

We are very fortunate to live and learn in a place where we feel safe. There are many people in the world that don’t have that privilege. It is important for us to remember and share stories of the past and the present to gain a better understanding of our world and what we can do, even as young children, to make it better.

As our school prepared for our Remembrance Day assembly, each class was asked to make a wreath with a message of peace. We made red poppies for remembrance and white poppies for peace. After sharing ideas, we came to an agreement of what peace means to our class: Peace is quiet. Peace is sharing. Peace is in your heart.

Peace means different things to different people. Our class has been reading books and engaging in discussions to gain a better understanding of peace. What does peace look like and feel like in our world, in our class, and in our hearts?

  1. I asked the child if you knew the meaning of peace. She said she didn’t know.I think it’s the most carefree time for her who doesn’t know the rules of the world.I want her to know the meaning of fairness, the rights and interests of the minority. One day we will become a minority, I hope someone will wave the flag and fight for us.May the world leave less and love more.
