5 Little Horses and 5 Little Dinosaurs!!

5 Little Horses is a favourite fingerplay of mine

It rhymes and keeps your hands moving!

Below are the words to help you learn it.

You will find it in my November video below so do it along with me!!

5 Little Horses

5 little horses galloped into town (start with hands behind your back and bring them wiggling to the front)

5 were white and 5 were brown (raise one hand at a time showing 5 fingers)

They galloped up and they galloped down (wiggle fingers as you raise your hands up then down)

Then they galloped out of town (wiggle your fingers and put them behind your back)

Click your tongue!!!

Bring them back, NEIGH!!!! (bring your hands in front and make a neighing sound!)

One day while doing 5 little horses a child asked if we could do dinosaurs instead.

So we did and this is what we came up with!!!

5 Little Dinosaurs

5 little dinosaurs stomped into town (start with hands behind your back and bring them to the front with your fingers extended like dinosaur feet stomping)

5 were green and 5 were brown (raise one hand at a time showing 5 fingers)

They stomped up and they stomped down (raise your claw hands stomping up then down)

Then they stomped right out of town (stomp your claw hands and put them behind your back)

Thump thump thump thump thump thump thump

Bring them back, ROAR!!!! (bring your hands in front and roar!)

When is StrongStart Opening?

Hello StrongStart Families,

I hope you were able to enjoy the summer months and explore our beautiful province.  Even if that was just in your own backyard!

I have had the privilege  of supporting the Kindergarten teachers last week and this week through the gradual entry process.  What a joy to see the children create new relationships with each other and their teachers.

We are still figuring out what StrongStart looks like during this time.  So currently I will be reaching out and available by phone and email. (beth.bosnick@burnabyschools.ca.)  I will once again be posting relevant and  helpful things for you here on my blog.  If you subscribe to my blog (you will find this on the right side of the screen)  you will receive an email each time there is a new post. This saves you always checking my blog to see if there is anything new.

Below is a copy of what the district presently has posted about StrongStart.  If anything changes you can find that information by visiting:

WELCOME TO BURNABY SCHOOLS STRONGSTART BC
EARLY LEARNING CENTRES

In September 2020, Burnaby StrongStart BC programs will continue to engage in outreach to families via emails, phone calls, and offering StrongStart services online.

There is currently no in-person StrongStart BC programs in Burnaby Schools.

We are looking into a variety of options that will enable us to offer in-person StrongStart BC programs. Programs will be at reduced capacity that are consistent with Stage 2 of the K-12 Education Restart Plan. “Reduced capacity” means that we will limit the number of families attending in order to maintain safe physical distancing. We will also reduce the number of hours per day and/or days per week of StrongStart BC operations to accommodate cleaning and disinfecting protocols.

Please continue to visit our website for the latest updates. We look forward to when we can welcome you back in person!

I miss you all,

Teacher Beth

Goodbye For Now…..

Dear Families,

This has for sure been a year like no other.  I have truly missed each of you and can’t wait to see you again.

For those children moving on to Kindergarten in September I wish you all the best.  I have loved journeying with you and watching you blossom.  For those children going to Kindergarten at Second Street I will see you in September!!! For the past two years I have had the privilege of supporting the Kindergarten teachers during the gradual entry process. It is definitely a highlight to help transition StrongStart graduates!!

I know many have questions about what September looks like for StrongStart. So at the end of August I encourage you to check out this link as is will have the most updated information for you.
