Business Fair!

Hi everyone!

We are officially two weeks away from the Business Fair! Everyone is super excited, and they have all been working incredibly hard. I am so proud of them!

I wanted to share some important details to help us all prepare for the big day.

Float Money

Each group must bring a $20 float to use for making change during the Business Fair. This money should be returned in full at the end of the event. The float should mainly consist of coins. An example has been provided below for reference, but you may choose any combination that works best. If you decide to include bills, please limit them to a maximum of $5.00. Please do not include pennies.

If your child is working with a partner, they should each contribute approximately $10 toward the float.

Toonies ($2): 5 × $2 = $10
Loonies ($1): 5 × $1 = $5
Quarters (25¢): 16 × $0.25 = $4
Dimes (10¢): 5 × $0.10 = $0.50
Nickels (5¢): 10 × $0.05 = $0.50

Total = $20

Float money will be due on May 5th. I will keep it safely stored in the classroom and distribute it to students on the day of the Business Fair.

Table Design

Today, students began planning their table displays for the Business Fair. They have already created their table signs and are welcome to bring additional items such as tablecloths, display stands, or other materials to help showcase their products. Students should start thinking about how they want to present their items in a way that attracts customers. They may benefit from some guidance at home, and I’ve already heard some creative and thoughtful ideas!

Mass Production

Please continue encouraging students to mass produce their items!

Business Fair Day

A reminder that our Business Fair will be held on May 8th, and you are more than welcome to attend! Families are invited to join us for shopping time from approximately 2:00–3:00 PM. Please feel free to bring family members, friends, and siblings to take part in the event. Exact times will be confirmed closer to the date.

Charity

20% of each group’s profit will be donated to a charity of their choosing. As a class, students have decided to support animal wildlife, and a specific organization will be selected this week.

Thank you again for all your support! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out 😊
