Good Afternoon!
v With the weather being so cold we want to keep our kiddos warm when they play outside – this can be quite challenging if your little one refuses to wear their winter coat, hat and gloves. Some children are extra sensitive to how things feel on their body, avoiding itchy fabrics and cutting out tags can be helpful. Dressing them in layers may feel more comfortable than one big bulky jacket – soft undershirt, long-sleeved shirt, vest, and thinner jacket together will provide warmth and lots of movement. Letting your little one choose what they prefer to wear (you can choose a couple items that are appropriate and let them choose between them) – kids start and like to make decisions about their bodies; giving a bit of a choice can make it easier for everyone! If you’d like a few more tips, check out this short post about the winter clothing battle.
v Join the Resilience BC Anti-Racism Network on February 19th from 4-530 pm for a wonderful workshop that helps celebrate Black History; Then and Now: Shaping the future of Black Canadians through lessons of past and anti-racism panel discussion.
