This is the time of year when we would be

walking to the Library to sign our Children up

for summer reading club. This year it looks a

little different but still possible! The library has

been very creative in delivering this program to

you this year as well as a lot of other info for you.

Summer Reading Club:

 

Summer Reading Club is launching online on Friday, June 12th! https://bpl.bc.ca/summer-reading-club . We’ve had a lot of questions about the Summer Reading Club launch, so we have put together a digital package (attached to this email). This package has been sent to all the Teacher Librarians in your district and contains Summer Reading Club promotion information. Please let me know if you have any questions!

 

Book Picks:

 

The Burnaby Public Library’s Children and Youth Services team have also made virtual book recommendations for sharing with your colleagues, students, and families. Here is the video for Preschoolers, Kindergarteners, and Grade 1s: https://vimeo.com/420707388/7b3f84e629 . We hope this encourages kids to continue reading for fun this summer! As a side note, this video doesn’t have the capability to be embedded into any websites or blogs, however, anyone who has the link may watch it.

Paper Bag Pickup:

 

Today, June 1st, Burnaby Public Library launched our curbside Paper Bag Pickup program: https://www.bpl.bc.ca/paper-bag-pickup . Patrons can now place holds on Print materials, including books and magazines, and also DVDs, audiobooks, and CDs.
