Week in the Woods…the Finale!
We did it! After going for progressively longer walks over the course of several weeks since Spring Break, Division 6 was ready to hike and hike we did!!
We left Friday morning right after attendance to set out on many familiar trails, and onto some new ones, too. Our route took us:
- Out along the Stoney Creek Trail behind the school
- Up the North Road Trails and left to Powerline Trail
- Further up Powerline Trail to the Trans-Canada Trail
- Trans-Canada Trail to Mel’s Trail
- Mel’s Trail to Upper Gear Jammer
We celebrated at the top with some Timbits, and promptly headed back down as it was windy and a bit chilly at the top of the mountain! Our route back was a little more direct down Gear Jammer to Upper Cut, then down Function Junction where we retraced the rest of the route back to the school.
All in all, a 12 km hike, according to my FitBit! Well done Division 6…and this will count toward our Walk30 total.

Thank you to the adults who facilitated this wonderful week of learning, fresh air, exercise, and treats. Our family has been hearing about these hikes all week. Div 6 is fit!
