For our Financial Literacy unit, students are learning to identify the different coins and their values. They are practising counting and adding coins and are earning money throughout the week to go shopping at the Classroom Shoebox Store. Students are given a nickel or a dime for completing classroom chores, silent reading and good behaviour. Last Friday, the store was open for business and several students were very eager to spend ALL their money. Some of the students are saving up for more expensive purchases.
Students are responsible for depositing their money into the mini bank at the end of each day. Mme Ng has explained that I will only accept money they earn in class. Please kindly remind children not to bring real money from home.
