Music Monday – May 4, 2020
Music Monday is a nationwide celebration of Canadian music education. Due to the COVID-19 situation, the celebration will still take place but participants will perform from home using creative means. The anthem that all groups will sing is Oscar Peterson’s Hymn to Freedom. Harriette Hamilton’s lyrics express “the hope for unity, peace and dignity for mankind”.
We learned and sang this song last year at the Intermediate Choral Festival. Let’s try to perform this song as a virtual choir. Ms. Lui will contact all the choir members by e-mail to ask your parents for permission to participate in this project.
In the meantime, you can sing along to Hymn to Freedom:

Intermediate Choral Festival 2020
The Intermediate Choral Festival has unfortunately been cancelled this year. I hope you continue singing until we can meet as a choir again.
I know we all worked hard on these songs so I hope we can still perform these songs as a virtual choir.
