After reflecting on our week at school, we want our families to know…
We can share the things that are important to us.
This week we talked about what makes our hearts happy. We then started an art project to capture what makes our hearts happy and what we are grateful for. We will continue our art project next week!
Together we are a team!
We have continued to create our classroom contract and have chosen 6 feelings that we would like to feel in our classroom. In our classroom we want to feel happy, fluffy/warm, joy, included, loved, and calm.
We have also come up with some classroom expectations together. Using the expectations, we are working on building a “sandwich” together. When we are showing that we are doing the things we want to see in our classroom, we get a piece of our “sandwich”. When we get all of our pieces, students have chosen to have extra free choice time.
We are mathematicians!
This week we have been “doing a lot of wondering about everything!” We have been thinking about math and where it exists around us! We are currently investigating what stories live in shapes. Through mathematical explorations students discovered that a cube is made up of 6 squares!
We are being bucket fillers!
“We are working on caring about everyone in our class. When we show we care, we are filling other people’s “buckets” and making them feel happy.”
We want our families to know that “we are making new friends and making people feel included. If someone is alone and we see it, we ask their name and try to learn more about them. When we do this, we might make a new best friend!”
An additional highlight:
“We loved playing in the rain on Friday!”
Wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!
