The chill in the air and the leaves on the trees are signalling that it is fall. Bright orange pumpkins lay in fields ready to be chosen. Division 4 had fun doing a painting depicting fall nights. Enjoy the pictures. Click on the picture above!
Poppies serve as a memorial symbol to the fallen and has come to represent the immeasurable sacrifice made by soldiers who died in World War One and later conflicts. Division 4 painted these important symbols and talked about words that depict war. Here are their paintings: the gray background represents the “darkness”, the chaos of war and the splattering of white and the vibrant red poppy signifies the “lightness”, the hope that is captured because of so much sacrifice. They are beautiful. Click on the photo!

Fall is always a colourful season. So many children and adults cannot help admiring the rich tones of the leaves at this time of year. Some cannot resist piling up the scattered leaves just to jump in it! Hope you had a chance to do that this fall! Here are Division 5’s beautiful fall paintings.
November 11 is a very important day. The students and I had a very deep discussion about this day and were able to learn a lot from our Remembrance DAy assembly. Students created Peace Dove art. They were asked to think about “light” words and “dark” words to explain what war meant to them.
Did you see Santas’ little helpers at our Pancake Breakfast? Here they are visiting Division 5 on the last day before our holidays! See them posing in front of our Christmas Tree in our class for the kids!
Here are the dreamy winter scenes found in snow globes by Division 5!
Hope you loved the sweet little trees that the children made!

Division 5’s Ted Harrison artwork is just visually stunning. The boys and girls learned to create beautiful landscapes of our North and depicting scenes of Inuit life by replicating some of Ted Harrison’s most famous works. Also, enjoy some photos of the kids working on their Stop Motion Projects using iPads that are about Aboriginal culture and their beliefs.
