Div. 4 has had a fantastic start to the new school year. The children seem really excited to learn new things and are already showing me that they are remembering our classroom routines. We have been spending time talking about what it looks like and sounds like to “Be a Star”.
S=Stay Safe
T=Take Responsibility
A=Act Respectfully
R=Remember to be Inclusive
Also, we had a great discussion on setting (SMART) goals and then they each came up with an academic, personal, and community goal and wrote them on their rockets they designed. Check out our cool bulletin board, “We are shooting to be stars”.
Boys and Girls can you tell me what you are excited to learn about this year? Also, tell me what you do to be a star.
I would like to learn about space and about the Bermuda triangle . I will let people join in whatever we’re playing in school and outside.
Those are really nice goals! Space isn’t one of our topics this year, but I find it extremely interesting too, so I am sure we can fit that in!
this year i am exited to learn the harder math and do some art because last year art was a lot of fun!!!!
I can be a star by looking both ways before crossing the road and since none of my friends are in my class I am making new friends with people in my class.
Sonia, I am so glad that you can make new friends and still keep the old ones you have! That is fantastic that you like math and art!
I am exited to learn about science, gym, and computers.
I hope we get to play hockey , learn about animal habitats
and do reasearch on them!!!

Wow!!! Last year the classroom was really different.
I am excited to learn about L.A, Science, and French again. All three are my favorites!
I can be a star by recycling paper,not throwing it in the garbage. I can also be a star by being nice too the littler kids on the playground or anywhere in the school.
Not just that but I can compost banana peels, apples cores, or any other food I could throw away in the compost.
I am hoping for a really nice school year and for everyone to get along!
Alexa, thanks for really thinking deeply about this year and your goals. Indeed, it is a different year, but I think we’ll have a great time together!
What I am exited to learn this year is to make new friends, try to be more attentive, and I look forward to have a great year in this class.
What I have been doing so far that makes me a star is that I always reminded myself to be inclusive, and I have tried to act respectfuly and I wanted to take more responsibility.
Good for you, Renee! Those are some great goals for yourself this year!
I am really excited to learn about resources in science. I have forgotten a good deal of french but Ms. Gabas is such a good teacher it will all come back for sure. Being a star is being nice, inclusive, and confident.
Lili, I know the French will come back to you and I know you have had a great start last year. I love teaching French! Thanks, Lili! I think we will all have a great year!
