The changing of the seasons has brought a beautiful start to our October.  The warmth of the sun continues as the students of Division 10 shine as Clinton Stars in Room 15.

Welcome to our classroom Blog.  You may have received an email about this post.  You can unsubscribe at any time.  This platform is just another form of communication between your child and our daily, weekly, monthly experiences.  Students are often at the forefront of the blog posts, contributing ideas to each page.

At the top of the blog posts, there are pages to access with information on a variety of topics.  Down the sidebar are areas that students will make use of during laptop time and places that you can explore at home.

Student photos can and will be posted here once permission has been given. Moments of celebration, opportunities for learning and new classroom experiences will be shared from time to time.

Today students began to develop their reading stamina.  They began with silent reading for 1 minute today with  some specific guidelines to follow.  They will progress to 3 minutes tomorrow and by the end of the month, they should be ready to tackle 30 minutes of independent reading.

Students are also beginning to fly all over the map with their Math Takes Flight activities.  Before beginning a math flight, they tap into their math super hero powers and make sure that they have done a few cross-body actions to activate both sides of their brain.

The classroom inquiry, “What stories do the seasons share with us,” has sparked conversations related to leaves, apples, spiders and cranberries.  We hope to continue investigating and observing in order to get a sense of what Autumn is all about.

We have a classroom guest, Charlotte the Spider, and we are beginning to participate in some Float and Sink What Do You Think predictions and experiments.

We look forward to participating in the Terry Fox Walk/Run coming up as well as the Autumn Community Field Trip to the Laity Pumpkin Patch.

Thank you for joining us on our Blog Journey of 2022-2023.
