March 9, 2026 – Day 1

English 9 (Pd 1 & 3):

Silent reading.

Sonnet 18 and Sonnet 130 by William Shakespeare: read, analyze and annotate.

Grammar work sheet.

CW 12 (Pd 2):

Personal Journal Reflection unit Day 1 with graded work block component. If you missed today’s class and your absence is excused, please email me ASAP for the 5 alternate prompts you are responsible for completing. If your absence was unexcused, this counts against your final project.

Hand back OAPU and presentation grades: for the T3 presentation, students will be required to be present in the class they are presenting in. If you are absent, your presentation, even if it’s a video, will not be eligible for grading. This supports the idea of sharing our work collectively as a writing community.

English 11CW (Pd 4):

Note taking for film to literature compare assignment. Note taking assignment whilst watching the film; notes will be collected and assessed separately from composition writing for this assignment.

Similarities:

  1. Note aspects where the film stays true to the text.
  2. Provide THREE examples of this.

Differences:

  1. Note aspects where the film takes liberties and changes, adds or removes scenes from the text.
  2. Provide THREE examples of this.
  3. Explain WHY you think the director has chosen to change/add/remove these scenes.

Begin watching Roman Polanski’s “The Tragedy of Macbeth.” We will continue the film in class on Weds.
