This scene raises many questions. Why does Lady Macbeth question her servant about Banquo’s whereabouts? Does this mean she’s no longer communicating with her husband? Does she think Macbeth is withholding information from her? If you were Lady Macbeth, what steps would you take to regain your husband’s confidence?
Using your ideas to the questions above, write a reflection(12-15 sentences) detailing your feelings about both Macbeth and Lady Macbeth by deciding whether you have any sympathy at all for them at this point. What are your personal conclusions about what they have done and their individual levels of guilt at this stage of the play?
