Today we celebrate Black Excellence Day in recognition of the significant accomplishments, stories and history of Black people in British Columbia and around the world.
After supporting “Black Shirt Day” last year which received overwhelming support around the world on January 15, 2021, the members of Ninandotoo Society created the Black Excellence Day initiative. You can read more about the creation of Black Excellence Day here:
We will be discussing the importance of uplifting diverse voices and sharing the stories of racialized groups, and students are wearing black to show their participation. As always, please note that the clothing you wear is not as important as the ideas you share.
