Nov 6 – Ch 9.3 Notes: Populations, Samples, Censuses and start of Census at School Assignment. Completed body measurements, please enter your data online at the website!
Nov 8 – We spent part of the class entering our class data on the Census at School website, and part of the class learning Mean, Median, Mode, and Range. Homework is to finish the worksheet on Mean, Median, Mode, and Range.
Nov 13 – We spent the first part of the class entering our class data and signing up for workshops for the November 20th Collaboration Day, and the second part of the class playing Prime Climb. Next class, we will be in the library working on the Census at School Assignment.
Nov 15 & 19 – We are in the library today working on the Census at School Assignment. Data file is here.
Nov 21 – Ch 9.4 Notes. We’re almost done with this chapter, quest will be on Thursday, Nov 29th!
Dec 3 – Census At School Assignment:
Taking the results of our class (click on the correct link below), take FOUR of the question items and present the results in the form of 4 different charts or graphs. For one question item, calculate the mean (average), median (middle number), mode (most common number) and range (highest – lowest).
Compare our class results to the canadian average from 2016/2017 (see third link below). Next class, you have one library period to work on completing charts and need to submit by printing out or emailing your work to: jerry.chien@burnabyschools.ca
