Sincerely, Ms. Zheng Some notes about our class: Start Time: School starts at 8:48AM. The first bell rings at 8:45AM. Please wait with your child at my OUTSIDE door, not in the hallway. I usually close the door at 9:00AM. Please go to the office if you arrive past 9:00AM. Thank you! Pick-up times: Each day, home time is 3:00PM. On Wednesdays, home time is at 2:00PM. I usually wait about 5 minutes before I send your child to the office to be picked up. Library: we have our library book exchange every week\u00a0on Tuesday mornings! Please return your books\u00a0every Monday if possible!\u00a0\u200b We\u00a0encourage independence and develop self-help skills in school. Children can learn so much from doing things themselves. When\u00a0they practice self-help\u00a0skills, they practice their gross and fine motor skills, gain confidence in their ability to try\u00a0new things and build self-esteem and pride in what they can accomplish. \u200b Inside shoes and extra clothes: please bring a pair of inside shoes to change into for rainy and snowy days. If your child has shoes with laces, it would be best to have them know\u00a0how to tie their shoelaces. Velcro shoes\/no-shoelaces shoes are preferred. It can cause longer wait times when we are teaching and students are constantly asking for their shoes to be tied. Please bring your child extra clothes the next day if they change and bring dirty clothes home. PLEASE WRITE YOUR CHILD’S NAME on the bag of clothes.\u200b Please remember to bring a water bottle to school as children often need a drink of water throughout the day. It\u2019s always good to keep them hydrated!\u200b Snack Time and Hot Lunch: We are encouraging students to eat healthy snacks first such\u00a0as fruits and vegetables, so they have the energy to learn throughout the day.
