As we learn to read more books, sometimes we like to ask ourselves questions that can help us understand stories and what we have read.<\/p>\n

Here are some questions you can ask yourself:<\/p>\n

FICTION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Before reading:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Read the title – What do you think the story will be about?<\/li>\n
  2. Why did you choose this book? Did you like the cover picture? Did you like the title?<\/li>\n
  3. Do a picture walk of your book – Make a prediction about how you think the story will end.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    After reading:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Can you summarize the story? What happened at the beginning, middle, and end?<\/li>\n
    2. Did you like the story? Why or why not?<\/li>\n
    3. Who was your favourite character?<\/li>\n
    4. If you could change the ending to the story, what would you change?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      1. Find the table of contents. What do you think you will learn about in this book?<\/li>\n

        2. Did the images help you understand what the writing on the page was saying?<\/li>\n
        3. Were the headings useful?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
