Suncrest Elementary School has a full-time music program\"IMG_3997\" for students in kindergarten to grade 7. \u00a0Our diverse program provides students with the tools needed to develop their musical abilities while providing a platform to develop a lifelong love of performing music.<\/p>\n

Dr. Yanko’s music program borrows and expands upon the philosophies and practices of Elliot Eisner, Maxine Greene, Nel Noddings, Edwin Gordon, Carla Rinaldi, and Loris Malaguzzi.\u00a0 The uniqueness of this program focuses on the role of the teacher, student, parent, and classroom environment (Our Atelier or “Musician’s Studio” and also the outdoors).\u00a0 As a result of all of these working together on various levels with the student, musical co-learning occurs.\u00a0 Our music program also provides a platform to allow inquiry and discover into music through various provocations and explorations.\u00a0 Because of this, students have a greater comprehension and passion for the art of creating, understanding, and performing music.<\/p>\n
