Ted Harrison was a Canadian artist (1926-2015) that created beautiful paintings inspired by the colours and culture of Yukon Territory.<\/p>\n

Here are some examples of his work:

The students then read a book, A Northern Alphabet<\/em>, by Ted Harrison. In this book, they viewed many beautiful illustrations of landscapes created by Ted Harrison.<\/p>\n

Next, we learned about warm colours vs. cool colours.
\nWarm colours include red, orange, and yellow.
\nCool colours include green, blue, purple, and white.<\/p>\n

The students learned how Ted Harrison used mainly cool colours to create the ground while the warm colours were used to create the sky.<\/p>\n

After the art lesson, students created their own landscapes inspired by Ted Harrison.<\/p>\n
