5 Little Pumpkins Sitting on the Gate

STEM Challenge: Build a gate and put the pumpkins sitting on the gate.

Materials: Plastic pumpkins, clothespins, popsicle sticks

Task: Without given instructions of how to build a gate, the students kept trying different strategies until their gates stood up by itself with pumpkins sitting on top of them.

Connection: Students learned the poem, “5 Little Pumpkins Sitting on the Gate”
