My favorite character is Alicia, she is different from the other girls in the Mango street. Girls on the Mango Street wants to escape from the Mango street, they rely on the mens and wish they will give them a better life. Alicia is the only one who wants to escape form this situation and try to help by herself. I think it is a good book because it mention about the racism and how unfair is women and mans are being treated.
