Happy early Valentine’s Day & Happy Lunar New Year \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
I wish you and your families a wonderful triple holiday weekend! Just a reminder that Monday is Family Day and there is no school.<\/p>\n
We started off with Math today – we did exploring thousandths for Grade 5s and comparing unit fractions for Grade 4’s. We talked about how to compare unit fractions e.g. 1\/2 or 1\/3 (where the numerator is 1) and how if there are more parts\/denominator is larger with 1 as the numerator for both, the more parts, the smaller the fraction is overall. The Math homework is due on Tuesday if not done.<\/p>\n
G5: Lesson 6 #3-13<\/p>\n
G4: Lesson 7 #1-6<\/p>\n
Then, they had snack, Music, DPA, and Gym. In Gym, we played more benchball and dodgeball.<\/p>\n
After lunch, students continued to watch Home Alone 2, which we started during our Winter party. Thank you to everyone who brought Valentine’s for the class and candy. I handed it out while they were watching the movie. They had a great time!<\/p>\n
Mrs. Chim came in at the end of the day and the kids finished watching the movie and then had Free Time and cleaned up.<\/p>\n
A few pieces of work:<\/p>\n
-Students’ persuasive writing good copy is due on Tuesday and to be handed in in the morning<\/p>\n
-Students’ Indigenous Dot Artwork is due on Tuesday as well.<\/p>\n
