After DPA &amp; Snack indoors, we worked on Lesson 11 in our textbooks about equivalent decimals. We talked about modelling the difference between 0.7 and 0.70 as 0.7 = seven-tenths and 0.70 is seventy-hundredths and how they are actually equivalent decimals as if they are made into fractions, 7\/10 and 70\/100 &#8211; they are equivalent fractions if reduced down via division. Students worked on page 204 #1-7 and it is homework if they are not done.<\/p>\n<p>Today, the new lunch envelopes went home for after March break and field trip forms went home for Science World for our trip Wednesday, March 11th. We are looking for parent volunteers! Please send back the forms as soon as possible as they are due on Monday. We are also collecting donations for the Philippines for unopened school supplies (boxes of pencils, erasers, markers, etc.).<\/p>\n<p>After, we talked about elements of commercials and students worked to create skits to sell me a product of their choosing by creating a commercial about it. We discussed commercials that students had seen before and what makes a good commercial. We will present these commercials next week, one group even chose to do a jingle for their commercial as well to make it memorable.<\/p>\n<p>After lunch, we wrote down our new spelling words, which are space and advertisement-themed. Then, we recorded in charts in the students&#8217; journals an analysis for various commercials.
