I was disappointed by many of the students’ behaviour today on this field trip. On field trips, the same rules are expected or even better behaviour expected as we are representing our school. I am hoping that the next field trip to YPC will be more successful. We talked about this in class as well. The YPC performance was great – we saw a mini concert showing us the History of Blues music, which was pretty cool!

After lunch, in poetry we explored Haikus. Haikus are a type of poem that has three lines. The first has 5 syllables, then 7 syllables, then 5 syllables. Students made haikus describing animals and biomes and then the rest of the class had to guess what the topic was. It was a lot of fun!

After recess, we continued playing Catan, White and Orange groups are tied at 5 points and only need 1 more point to win! At the end of the day, we did a class reading on “How to Become a Knight” and then answered some true or false questions to test their comprehension of the text. We also highlighted the most important points.

Dear Parents, This morning, we explored some more multiplication Math games to help with automaticity on the projector: https://mathsframe.co.uk/en/resources/resource/504/Super-Maths-Bowling-Multiplication and https://www.arcademics.com/games/meteor I would suggest that students practice these as a fun way to work on their multiplication facts and automaticity.
