Dear Parents,<\/p>\n
Today, we started with students doing partner reading and drawing their observations of their plant. Then, students did their Weekend Journal Outlines. Their task is to write about: if they had 3 wishes, what would they be and why. They are not allowed to wish for more wishes or more genies, etc. Students should aim for 1.5 pages to 2 at this point in the year in order to elaborate on their ideas. Then, we had a hold & secure drill in the classroom and we watched our class movie because the students reached 50 points for the home reading program! Yay!<\/p>\n
After recess, students worked on their new Daily 5 reading\/work:<\/p>\n
Red Group: Read to Book’s End.<\/p>\n
Orange Group: Quiz Time (Ch. 7 & 8) & Quiz Time (Ch. 9 & 10)<\/p>\n
Yellow Group: The Ultimate Meal + Such Worries<\/p>\n
This is due on Monday if students have not finished in class.<\/p>\n
Then, students did Typing and then had the option to switch to coding at 11:30 and then do the Wordle at 11:45.<\/p>\n
Following lunch, students did a quiet activity and then worked on their stories. Again, their stories are due on Tuesday and will be marked then.<\/p>\n
Then, we played a word association game and had community time.<\/p>\n
Reminders: Weekend Journal due Monday, Daily 5 work\/reading, and Read 30 minutes today \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
