Reflection:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What emotion did the music make you feel?<\/li>\n<li>Where in your body did you feel the music?<\/li>\n<li>Did the music make you feel like moving? If so, how?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>2)<\/strong> What did you hear?<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What instruments or voices did you hear?<\/li>\n<li>Were there any \u201cfamilies\u201d of instruments playing?<\/li>\n<li>Could you imitate any of the sounds you heard with things you have in your own house?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>3)<\/strong> Move<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Try moving to the music<\/li>\n<li>Can you use regular dance steps?<\/li>\n<li>Does the music have a steady beat you can move to?<\/li>\n<li>Does the speed (tempo) of the music change, so that your movements need to change?<\/li>\n<li>Are there any repeated patterns that you could create a movement pattern to match?<\/li>\n<li>Can you create a movement\/dance piece that lasts the full length of the piece and <strong>practice<\/strong> enough to be able to remember and repeat it (<strong>perform<\/strong>)?<\/li>\n<li>Can you add any <strong>props<\/strong> to bring more excitement and colour to your piece?<\/li>\n<li>Create a dance for your <strong>puppets or stuffies<\/strong> to do<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>4)<\/strong> Analyze<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Where in the world do you think this music comes from? [Continent, country, area]<\/li>\n<li>When do you think this music was composed? [Now? When your parents were kids? When your great grandparents were kids? In olden day Europe when men wore powdered wigs and high heels?! Use your imagination.]<\/li>\n<li>Can you think of an occasion when you might hear this music? [Party, for Kings &amp; Queens, for working, for a country dance, etc.]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>5)<\/strong> Create Visual Art<\/em><\/p>\n<p>All forms of art have inspired other forms of art throughout history. A great story can inspire a song, which can then inspire a dance, which can inspire a great costume! And so it goes\u2026.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Can you create a <strong>picture<\/strong> that is inspired by the music? [Pencils, felts, crayons, paints, chalk, etc.]<\/li>\n<li>Can you make a <strong>sculpture<\/strong> that shows the energy or movement the music inspires?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>6)<\/strong> Read\/Write<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Does this music:\u00a0 inspire you? remind you of something? frustrate you? scare you!? Could you write something in response?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Journal<\/li>\n<li>Poem<\/li>\n<li>Story<\/li>\n<li>Radio play<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>7)<\/strong> Build<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Does the music make you think of shapes?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Build an object in that shape<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Is there a form to the music?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you hear repeated sections in the music, could you build a temporary structure with found objects in the same form?
