May 4th is Star Wars Day (May the 4th be with you.) For this week, our listening selection is a Star Wars Medley sung a cappella by Jimmy Fallon, The Roots and the cast of Star Wars: A Force Awakens. Do a response, take a picture and if you send it to me, I will add it to the gallery page. Send it to Faith.Veikle@burnabyschools.ca
Music Monday is coming up next week on Monday, May 4th. On that day, at 9:30 am (BC time), there will be a coast-to-coast-to-coast sing–along of Hymn to Freedom (last week’s song). I hope you join in! Music Monday is an event organized by the Coalition of Canada for Music Education. From 6am-6pm on May 4th, there will also be music celebrations streamed on CoalitionCanada’s website, YouTube channel and Facebook page. I’ll send out more information next week.
Don’t forget to head over to the your grade level tab. The story from last week, Oscar Lives Next Door is still there. There is a practice video for Hymn to Freedom. For intermediates, you have an assignment on Oscar Peterson and Hymn to Freedom.

Hello everyone!
I miss seeing you and really miss the joy of making music with you. I hope you are keeping healthy and following all the rules about keeping your distance and washing your hands!!
In these very unusual times we cannot make music together, but we can make music ourselves at home and use it to keep our spirits up. I will be posting suggestion for activities here on my blog. For now, the purpose of our music making is to lift our spirits and help us to get through this together.
If you would like to share your work with my or have any questions, please email me at Faith.veikle@burnabyschools.ca
Please take good care of yourselves and your loved ones.
Ms. Veikle
