Mme Ubial loves to teach French because she knows how great it is to make friends all over the world. She spent over a month in Chicoutimi, Quebec and around 7 months in the region of Corrèze, France. In 2010, Mme Ubial completed her Bachelor’s of Education at UBC and has been teaching French Immersion primary and intermediate grades in Burnaby ever since. Besides teaching, Mme Ubial also enjoys playing the piano for the Inman School choir. She is very pleased to be partnering with Mme Gillingham because it means she has more time for her family. It also means she gets to team-up with and learn from a teacher extraordinaire!
Mme Gillingham is excited to be teaching at Inman with Mme Ubial! Mme Gillingham grew up learning to speak French by being a French Immersion student too! She has taught in Abbotsford, mainly in Gr. 2 and 3. When she got married, she moved to teaching in Burnaby at Ecole Seaforth Elementary, mainly in Kindergarten. Mme Gillingham has two children, Erik and Katherine, and is happy that she gets to spend more time with them this year while sharing the teaching with Mme Ubial. She looks forward to getting to know the students and the school community better over the year.
