{"id":982,"date":"2013-04-18T20:40:58","date_gmt":"2013-04-19T03:40:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/temples\/?p=982"},"modified":"2013-04-18T20:40:58","modified_gmt":"2013-04-19T03:40:58","slug":"student-led-artwork","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/temples\/2013\/04\/18\/student-led-artwork\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Led Artwork"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/temples\/files\/2013\/04\/010.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-983\" title=\"010\" src=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/temples\/files\/2013\/04\/010-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/temples\/files\/2013\/04\/010-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/temples\/files\/2013\/04\/010.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I am sure you all saw these wonderful self portraits last night at the Student-Led conferences.\u00a0 They form a very appealing wall of creativity in our classroom.<\/p>\n<p>Through a directed drawing lesson students learned the proper positioning of facial features.\u00a0 It is a common tendency for young children to place the eyes way too high on the face.\u00a0 In actual fact they are centred in the middle of the face &#8211; from top to bottom.\u00a0 Eyes are not seen as round objects but are more almond-shaped.\u00a0 For proper positioning and sizing 5 eyes would fit from end to end across the face &#8211; of course, we only have the two!!\u00a0 The eyes should be in positions 2 and 4 (if we measured out 5 eye spaces).\u00a0 The tops of the ears are at the same height as the eyes and the bottoms of the ears line up with the mouth.<\/p>\n<p>To become more accurate at the proportions in their drawing\u00a0takes a great deal of time and practise.\u00a0 We will be working more on these drawing lessons in the next few weeks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am sure you all saw these wonderful self portraits last night at the Student-Led conferences.\u00a0 They form a very appealing wall of creativity in our classroom.
