{"id":4951,"date":"2025-10-29T18:13:01","date_gmt":"2025-10-30T01:13:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/temples\/?p=4951"},"modified":"2025-10-29T18:13:01","modified_gmt":"2025-10-30T01:13:01","slug":"bernard-the-butterfly-and-some-cousins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/temples\/2025\/10\/29\/bernard-the-butterfly-and-some-cousins\/","title":{"rendered":"Bernard, the Butterfly, and some cousins"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/temples\/files\/2025\/10\/IMG_6842-e1761784750180.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-thumbnail wp-image-4952\" src=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/temples\/files\/2025\/10\/IMG_6842-150x150.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/temples\/files\/2025\/10\/IMG_6841-2-e1761785131720.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-thumbnail wp-image-4955\" src=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/temples\/files\/2025\/10\/IMG_6841-2-150x150.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We have been learning about colour theory through exploring how the primary colours (red, blue, and yellow) are used to make the secondary colours (orange, green, and purple &#8211; with equal amounts of the primary colours), and intermediate colours (orange, green, and purple &#8211; with unequal amounts of the primary colours).<\/p>\n<p>Students used tempera paint (the three primary colours only) and put blobs of paint onto one side of their folded paper. \u00a0They then folded the paper closed and rubbed it together to share the paint on both sides. \u00a0The goal was to give their butterflies a symmetrical look. \u00a0They were encouraged to put two primary colours together to create intermediate colours. \u00a0It is difficult to create secondary colours without measuring the paint.<\/p>\n<p>Today students created construction paper bodies, with antennae, and put them together. \u00a0They are in the bulletin board in the hallway.
