Schools will reopen on Tuesday, April 18th.<\/p>\n<p>This week we spent some time talking about Easter &#8211; its origin (Christianity) and the ancient Anglo Saxon tradition of Eastre (a spring celebration) which brought us the Easter Bunny. &nbsp;We read, The Velveteen Rabbit, (my Reading group) and Rechenka&#8217;s Eggs, by Patricia Polacco, (the whole class) which looked at the tradition of Russian \/ Ukranian eggs.<\/p>\n<p>The students decorated their own eggs. &nbsp;Some challenged themselves by doing the design as well as the colouring.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/temples\/files\/2017\/04\/IMG_5312.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2190\" src=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/temples\/files\/2017\/04\/IMG_5312-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/temples\/files\/2017\/04\/IMG_5312-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/temples\/files\/2017\/04\/IMG_5312-600x450.jpg 600w, https:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/temples\/files\/2017\/04\/IMG_5312.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I hope you all have a fantastic long weekend.
