{"id":1135,"date":"2013-10-08T21:48:13","date_gmt":"2013-10-09T04:48:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/temples\/?p=1135"},"modified":"2014-01-07T19:17:23","modified_gmt":"2014-01-08T03:17:23","slug":"laity-pumpkin-patch-trip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/temples\/2013\/10\/08\/laity-pumpkin-patch-trip\/","title":{"rendered":"Laity Pumpkin Patch Trip"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/temples\/files\/2013\/10\/004.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1136\" alt=\"004\" src=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/temples\/files\/2013\/10\/004-300x225.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/temples\/files\/2013\/10\/004-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/temples\/files\/2013\/10\/004.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We left Burnaby on a beautiful, sunny, blue-sky morning.\u00a0 As we neared the pumpkin farm in Maple Ridge we noticed grey\u00a0clouds begin to cover up that blue sky.\u00a0 Shortly after arriving the skies opened up and we were in a downpour!!\u00a0 This was not something we expected but I was very impressed with the manner in which students (and parents) mustered through and all enjoyed a very fun morning.<\/p>\n<p>We began in the barn area and had fun feeding, and patting, several different farm animals &#8211; including: sheep, goats, and miniature ponies.\u00a0 We also saw a rooster and a hen, along with several partridges.\u00a0 Students will now know what they are singing about at Christmas time &#8211;\u00a0&#8220;a partridge in a pear tree&#8221;!!<\/p>\n<p>We left the barn (still in the rain) and enjoyed the outside cut-outs.<\/p>\n<p>We then walked past the vegetable garden and had a tractor ride.\u00a0 We saw the emus that one of my Reading groups has been learning about.\u00a0 We moved on to the tent area and enjoyed some juice.<\/p>\n<p>After our break we began our forest walk.\u00a0 At this point the rain began to subside.\u00a0 There we enjoyed several of the different themed exhibitions.\u00a0 Students seemed to enjoy the different areas.\u00a0 We enjoyed our trip through the corn maze and then it was &#8216;pumpkin time&#8217;!\u00a0 By now the rain had ceased and the sky was becoming blue once again!<\/p>\n<p>Students each chose their own personal pumpkin to take back to school &#8211;
