It is important that students wear <\/span>running shoes<\/span> – no sandals or crocs (for safety).\u00a0 These could be their inside shoes which they keep in their cubbyholes in the cloakroom.\u00a0 They should also wear clothing that they can be physically active in \u2013 <\/span>no dresses or skirts on gym days please<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n Planners<\/strong> \u2013 at 10:50 daily. \u00a0Students write a message in their planners each day for parent information about things upcoming in the class or school – notices will be placed in the plastic front pocket.\u00a0 It is an important part of the \u201cPersonal Planning\u201d curriculum to teach the importance of communication, responsibility, and organization.\u00a0 Please read these\u00a0notes with your child each day, sign your initials so I know that you have read\u00a0it, and <\/span>ensure that your child returns the planner to school each day<\/strong>.\u00a0 You may also communicate with me as well by putting a note in the front pocket.\u00a0 <\/span>Please do not write on the student sections of the planner as that is where the students record their messages.<\/span><\/p>\n Reading Groups<\/strong> \u2013 Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9:20-10:25. \u00a0Students in the class are divided into literacy groups, according to ability, for instruction in Reading.<\/p>\n Library Visits ** to be determined<\/strong> –\u00a0Students will be allowed to sign out one book per week, initially.\u00a0 Later on, they should be allowed to sign out two books.\u00a0 These books can come back to school any day up to the next day\u2019s visit and placed in our Library Book Return tub.\u00a0 <\/span>Please help your child remember to return their books each week<\/strong>.\u00a0 Our librarian is Mrs. Buchanan.<\/span><\/p>\n Music<\/strong> \u2013Mondays from ** and Wednesdays from **.\u00a0\u00a0Music instruction is given by Ms. Petrovska.<\/p>\n Computer Lab<\/strong> – Our computer time is on Tuesdays from **.\u00a0 We will begin our lessons shortly. \u00a0If you haven\u2019t done so already, please send in a pair of headphones for your child to keep and use at school. \u00a0I will write your child’s numerical Username and their Password on the front page of their Planners (so they want to access the school site from home), once I get them from the Office.<\/p>\n Buddies with Divisions 2 and 4 –<\/strong> We will be meeting with our Buddies each Friday afternoon from 2:00 – 2:50.\u00a0 We will be setting our Buddy groups soon.\u00a0 Each child in our class will have one ‘buddy’ from each of the two divisions – so groups of 3 (sometimes 4, as the older grades have more students than we do).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" TO BE UPDATED: P.E.\u00a0 \u00a0** .
