Grow Your Own Green Onions!
Good morning, everyone!
As I write this, I am sitting beside my desk next to my beautiful plants. Even though I live in an apartment, I am still able to grow a few plants inside! My favourite plants are the ones that I can eat like basil, mint, and… green onion!
Did you know that you can use parts of plants to regrow them? Isn’t that cool? Regrowing your plants not only gives you food, but it also saves your family money and also helps Mother Nature because you are not throwing anything out. Watch this video to watch how to do it!
I want you to try to regrow your green onions now! Follow the steps below (or rewatch the video) and if you’d like, send me a pictures of you doing it to share with me. Next week, I will ask you how your green onion plant is doing.

- small glass or plastic jar
- water
Instructions
- Place the green onions in the jar, root side down. add 1” of water to the jar. set in a warm, sunny spot.
- Every 2 days, change the water in the jar. In about 2 weeks, you’ll have new, fully grown scallions, ready to add to your dinner!
Happy planting 🙂
