{"id":186,"date":"2020-05-26T11:47:55","date_gmt":"2020-05-26T18:47:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/stride-strongstart\/?p=186"},"modified":"2020-05-26T11:47:55","modified_gmt":"2020-05-26T18:47:55","slug":"rain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/stride-strongstart\/2020\/05\/26\/rain\/","title":{"rendered":"Rain!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The rain is falling all around,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">On the housetops, on the ground.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The rain is falling on my toes,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">On my head, and hands, and nose.<\/p>\n<p>One rainy day, I was in the forest with a preschool class. \u00a0We had gathered up a pile of leaves and a girl was laying in them, looking up at the sky. \u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s snowing,\u201d she said. \u00a0We all smiled and shook our heads. \u00a0It was raining, and not very cold. \u00a0I was curious though and laid down beside her. \u00a0The raindrops were coming down on our faces, but looking up at them with the cloudy sky behind them, the raindrops were white! \u00a0They very much looked like snow.<\/p>\n<p>Rain walks with children have become a favorite activity for me. \u00a0Although many people choose to stay inside, proper clothing make walking in the rain a peaceful, relaxing pastime. \u00a0When you don&#8217;t have a destination or time to adhere to, a leisurely stroll can prove to be a memorable experience! \u00a0Let your child(ren) lead the way! \u00a0Try to see what they see, hear, feel and smell as you go! \u00a0You might surprise yourself with your own discoveries walking in their boots!<\/p>\n<p>Children and teachers often go for walks around the community. \u00a0We&#8217;ll catch ourselves wondering what children are experiencing as we go. \u00a0We might wonder&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Why has she stopped walking? \u00a0What does she see? \u00a0Is she listening to something?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-195\" src=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/stride-strongstart\/files\/2020\/05\/Umbrella-Child-261x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"261\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/stride-strongstart\/files\/2020\/05\/Umbrella-Child-261x300.jpg 261w, https:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/stride-strongstart\/files\/2020\/05\/Umbrella-Child.jpg 418w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 261px) 100vw, 261px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sometimes children find puddles of unusual size! \u00a0Why walk around it? \u00a0Puddles are for jumping in (ask any child or even Pete the Cat)!
