Hi everyone,
I wanted to share an art activity from Pinterest that you can do at home with your children to mark Remembrance day on November 11th and all the poppies children are seeing many of us wearing these days. All you need is some red, black, and green tempera paint, bottle cap lids, and a brush or even just fingers if your children love finger painting like I do. This would also make a great family activity to mark the day.
Here is also a rhyming poem you can read together to help children understand the significance of the poppy.
Poppy Poppy
Poppy poppy what do you say?
Wear me on Remembrance Day.
Poppy poppy what do you tell?
Many soldiers in battle fell.
Poppy poppy what should we know?
That peace on earth should
grow, grow, grow.
