No homework?

Does your child tell you that they have no homework?

Regular work (Monday to Friday) is:

1. Independent novel reading (regular sustained reading).  Quizzes are available Mondays and Thursdays.  This occurs for 7 weeks each term.  Students are given a list of more than 200 great novels ranging from grades 3 to high school.  The info is in their black duotang!
2. Ensure daily math practice is ongoing. Student must consult with teacher to get credit for their daily math.
3. Ensure daily WRITE RIGHT (writing practice M-F 9-9:30) is completed and submitted every Friday.
4. Memorize and practice your multiplication tables.
5.  At home, practice All The Right Type.  There are 87 lessons for proper finger placement and to build speed.  Your child has been given a licence to use this program from the Burnaby School District.

 

Do you know that lessons stop at 2:53 p.m. to allow your child time to record assignments and due dates into their Planner?

How can you check if your child has homework?

1. Ask to see their Planner!
2. Check our class website for Homework Due Dates.
3. Sign up for the Remind app on your cellphone so I can send you a text to notify you when your child’s assignment is really late.
