Dear Division 12,<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

It has been brought to <\/span>my<\/span> attention that we need to be reminded about our Digital Citizen<\/span>ship learning from<\/span> first term of school.  <\/span>During this third t<\/span>e<\/span>rm<\/span> will be using technology as a tool for learning, sharing and connecting with each other.  We a<\/span>re<\/span> so glad that st<\/span>udents <\/span>are<\/span> able to<\/span> share and comment through the Microsoft TEAMS application<\/span>, through our Division 12 Class blog website and through Zoom<\/span>.  There are so many fun emojis we can use to communicate as well.  <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Please remember to always use kind words to encourage and support one another when we communicate online.<\/span>  Microsoft TEAMS <\/span>\u2018<\/span>posts<\/span>\u2019<\/span> may seem like a \u2018<\/span>c<\/span>hat\u2019 tab, but it is <\/span>actually a <\/span>place where we post meaningful <\/span>thoughts<\/span>, photos, reflections and writing<\/span>.  <\/span>Posting is a way of sharing and expressing ourselves, but also a way for us to encourage and support one another other.  <\/span>Please post <\/span>responsibly and <\/span>thoughtfully<\/span> and<\/span> <\/span>do your best to <\/span>check you<\/span>r<\/span> spelling,<\/span> capitals<\/span>,<\/span> punctuation and<\/span> read over what you wrote<\/span> <\/span>again <\/span>before you click \u2018send.\u2019  <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

An excellent example of a thoughtful post is Clarissa\u2019s photo and writing entry about Rock Monsters.<\/span>  Another example is when a classmate sends photos and writes a comment or caption about it.  We can give a thumbs up to click that we saw it or that we like it.<\/span>  Below you can see that Clarissa has 2 thumbs up<\/span> for her post<\/span>!<\/span>👍<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

If you would like to meet with your friend<\/span> or <\/span>share personal information about playing video games <\/span> together<\/span>, please<\/span> do that over <\/span>your home<\/span> <\/span>phone or <\/span>shar<\/span>e<\/span> through Messenger <\/span>(we have heard that some of our students are c<\/span>ommunicating<\/span> this way)<\/span>.<\/span> <\/span>  <\/span>Mrs Malito and I read through your posts and give \u2018thumbs up<\/span>\u2019<\/span> to meaningful and thoughtful posts<\/span>.  If you notice a<\/span> great <\/span>post you can also respond by giving it a \u2018thumbs up\u2019 too!<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Practising Digital Citizenship is an important part of our learning journey for third term and we are excited to share and learn more together as the weeks progress.<\/span>  In small groups we will also be talking more about the importanc<\/span>e<\/span> of digital citizenship and <\/span>proper <\/span>posting etiquette (manners)<\/span> on our TEAMS, ZOOM or Class Blog site<\/span>.  If you have read my post and understand it, I would be so happy to get a thumbs up from you! <\/span>😄👍<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
