Good morning Division 6!  A quick reminder, we have a CLASS MEETING tomorrow on MS TEAMS at 11:00.  I’m so excited to see everyone! Try your best to attend and remember to mute your microphone, so that we don’t have everyone talking at one time.  The topic that we’ll discuss is tell the class something fun you did on the weekend (or it could even be something fun you did yesterday).  Also, try to complete the activities for Ms. Fletcher.  The due date for her assignments is this THURSDAY.  Here’s today’s schedule:

  • PE WITH JOE or JUST DANCE videos – Do either for 20 minutes. If you have some other exercise that you found online, then do that for 20 minutes. Please choose appropriate videos if you choose to do JUST DANCE.  Take breaks and drink water when necessary.
  • POETRY – Continue working on your COLOUR POEM. Please follow the format of the example included in the COLOUR POEM PDF.
  • MATH – Today, I want you to work on IXL. Grade 4, I want you to watch the following video:  MEASURING VOLUME BY COUNTING UNIT CUBES on YOUTUBE.  In your internet browser, type in:
  • MATH – Grade 4s, do the questions on IXL for VOLUME for 15 – 20 minutes. You can use a calculator if need to. If you make any mistakes, read the corrections carefully and learn from your mistakes.
  • MATH – Grade 5s, I want you to watch the following video: HOW TO FIND THE SURFACE AREA OF A CUBE on YOUTUBE.  In your internet browser, type in:
  • Also, Grade 5s, I want you to watch the another video: SURFACE AREA OF A RECTANGULAR PRISM on YOUTUBE.  In your internet browser, type in:
  • MATH – Grade 5s, do the questions on IXL for SURFACE AREA. Use a calculator for help if you want.  Do the questions for 15 to 20 minutes and if you make any mistakes, read the corrections carefully and learn from your mistakes.
  • SCIENCE – Complete the questions from the article on the classroom website titled ALL ABOUT THE AQUATIC BIOMES: MARINE BIOMES on MS TEAMS.  It is located in the CLASS MATERIALS folder.  Answer the questions at the end of the article and use the article to help you answer the question.   You can upload your answers to the ASSIGNMENTS tab in MS TEAMS.  The due date for this assignment is FRIDAY, MAY 15TH.
  • SS – Complete the questions for the article for the CHINESE IMMIGRANT HEAD TAX by FRIDAY, MAY 15TH.  For more background information, watch the following video on cbc.ca:  Chinese Immigrants Not Welcome after Railway Completed.  In your internet browser, type in:

  • PRACTICE TYPING with Dance Mat typing or if you found a website that you like, then you can use it. If you have completed Dance Mat, you can redo it for now.  Practicing for 15 minutes everyday will help you get better at typing.
  • MUSIC – Please remember to complete your assignment for Ms. Fletcher. You need to complete and submit 3 easy forms that are on the Music Blog: a music blog poll, music reflection, and a scavenger hunt.  The assignments are located on Ms. Fletcher’s blog in the FORMS TO SUBMIT TO MS. FLETCHER which is located under the PRIME MINISTER TRUDEAU’S MESSAGE TO KIDS WITH LEGO video.  The assignment is not mandatory right now, but she would like to have the MUSIC REFLECTION.  This is all due THURSDAY, MAY 14TH.  Her blog is on the Suncrest website at https://sd41blogs.ca/fletcherp/
  • Explore MS TEAMS – You can use the chat option with each other after you have completed the day’s activities. It will be open from 10:30 to 1:30. I will be available to talk to you guys if you have any questions with any assignments. Or if you just feel like chatting with me, that’s okay too.  Remember, tomorrow is our CLASS MEETING at 11:00 to 11:30.
