Hello everyone!
I am looking forward to continuing our inquiry about clouds this week! Last week we focused on observations, wonders and using our creative thinking to think like a cloud. This week, we are going to focus on non-fiction stories and finding out true facts about different types of clouds. We have our list of wonders we created together and I can’t wait to read and watch to find answers to our wonders!
Here is our weekly plan for next week.
A reminder: Friday is a Professional Day for all students.

I need support to teach math to Mariya. Although she is able to count and write 1-20, she is struggling to understand concepts as the addition of +1. I have used strategies such as adding groups of lego, using fingers, and starting the count from the first number, and adding fingers to count up. Minus is completely nonexistent as a concept.
Hi Fonda,
The strategies you have described are exactly the type of practice that will support Mathematical thinking. It is important to make time to work on math each day – even 5-10 minutes and ideally 20-30 minutes. The number line and 10 Frame are important tools to have in the Math Tool Kit to support counting and addition. Subtraction is a concept that will come later.
