{"id":1161,"date":"2020-11-09T10:58:49","date_gmt":"2020-11-09T18:58:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/setov\/?p=1161"},"modified":"2020-11-09T10:59:07","modified_gmt":"2020-11-09T18:59:07","slug":"update-and-reminders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/setov\/2020\/11\/09\/update-and-reminders\/","title":{"rendered":"Update and reminders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi Families,<\/p>\n<p>Today I will be trying TEAMS out so don&#8217;t worry if it sends you any notifications.\u00a0 I will let you know if\/when you need to sign into it.\u00a0 I might move over to teams as it has more features.<\/p>\n<p>We have been working on:<\/p>\n<p>Math:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>place value (including adding and subtracting)<\/li>\n<li>counting coins (which many students need to practice)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>PE:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>skipping<\/li>\n<li>badminton<\/li>\n<li>scoops<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Science:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Matter and thermal energy<\/li>\n<li>One way to discuss this at home is to discuss examples of convection\/conduction\/radiation while cooking or baking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Language Arts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>students created a monster character then wrote a story about him including beginning\/middle\/ending<\/li>\n<li>students have been sharing their stories<\/li>\n<li>we continue to work on speaking French in class and listening during instructions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Art:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>we practiced elements of drawing<\/li>\n<li>they learned to observe and recreate them through drawing one square at a time and then also to draw something upside down<\/li>\n<li>created an art project in the style of Edvard Munch&#8217;s The Scream<\/li>\n<li>created an art project of a poppy field using perspective (big poppies at the front and smaller ones at the back)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I sent a package of work home Friday for you to look at and discuss with your child.<\/p>\n<p>Reminders:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No school Wednesday the 11th<\/li>\n<li>Please send a sock with your child (to use to wipe white board)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi Families, Today I will be trying TEAMS out so don&#8217;t worry if it sends you any notifications.\u00a0 I will let you know if\/when you need to sign into it.\u00a0 I might move over to teams as it has more features.
