What colour was the fastest to fill the jar? And why?
Students had a great time doing a science experiment today. Please ask them to explain what thermal energy is and how did they measure it? What tool did they use to measure thermal energy? Please answer in the comment box below. Click this post and a comment box will appear. 👌 There is no Home Reading this week and Mr. Fong is hoping that students can bring in a shoebox tomorrow if possible. No worries if you don’t have one. Thank you!

Real World Money Math – what will you buy?
Today we began looking at the cost of food, and students were given an imaginary e-Transfer of $200.00 to buy healthy food for a week. Students created a collage of food from flyers and will continue with spending on treats or hobby. They will also be using calculators to find totals of the amount spent.

Family Trees
The students in Division 9 have presented their “roots” by sharing their family ancestry. Thank you to the families for helping with this project. It is culturally important to be able to recognize those of us who are settlers with roots in another part of the world, as we learn about Indigenous Peoples and the Coast Salish Territory.

What Time is it?
Students in Division 9 have been learning about time and they have some homework to do with parent supervision. This gives you an idea of how your child is doing with applying skills in a different environment. Please return the work with signature, and your reflection, by Friday Thank you!!

Our amazing Owl Day
On December 10 we had fun making clay owls in the morning, and then in the afternoon the class had a virtual field trip with OWL. Students dissected owl pellets like scientists.
