Therefore current Grade 7s who attend a Burnaby School District elementary school do not need to apply in February <em>unless <\/em>they are wanting to attend a high school that is outside of their catchment. Regardless of which elementary school they attend, those who want to attend a different high school from the one in their local attendance area based on their home address need to apply for a cross-district transfer, which can be found <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/burnabyschools.ca\/registration-categories\/#studenttransfers\">here<\/a><\/strong>. To find the schools that serve your address click <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mybaragar.com\/index.cfm?event=page.SchoolLocatorPublic&amp;DistrictCode=BC41\">here<\/a><\/strong>. Families of current Grade 7 students who attend an independent or private school and want to go to a Burnaby School District secondary school should contact the office of the high school that is within their catchment to receive registration information by email.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Programs of Choice<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Programs of Choice allow students to explore their interests, support their strengths or get exposed to a career. The Burnaby School District offers dozens of options, with many at the secondary level put on in partnership with higher education institutions or industry.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/burnabyschools.ca\/programs-of-choice\/\"><strong><u>Programs of Choice \u2013 Secondary and Elementary Students<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Information Sessions<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Information sessions are a great way to learn more about course planning and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/burnabyschools.ca\/programs-of-choice\/\">Programs of Choice<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 including language programs such as French Immersion and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/burnabyschools.ca\/careereducation\/\">Career Education<\/a><\/strong> options \u2013 as well as elective classes for high school students.
