Div. 27 has learned about the Coast Salish \u2013 the original inhabitants of the city we live in. We know how lucky we are to be living here all together, in a place that has been cared for by the Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh, and Squamish peoples for thousands of years (the names are pronounced \u201cmus-kwee-um,\u201d \u201cslay-wa-tooth,\u201d and \u201cskwa-mish\u201d).<\/p>\n Think about your own family living in Burnaby. What connects you to this place? Is it the forest nearby your home, the parks you play in, the ocean and beaches, or maybe the paths you walk in your neighbourhood?<\/p>\n Create an art project that shows your family\u2019s connection to the land here.
