We have been learning about water. So far students have learned about water sources and the water cycle. Ask your child what they can know about these topics. Their answers may be interesting!

This lesson is a bit challenging to share because we go back and forth between video clips. Please follow along to the videos in the order given here. Here are compression questions. Please read over theses question before watching the videos and answer them as the question comes up. Don’t forget you can pause and go back if you need extra time of didn’t catch the answer. For grade 3’s, please encourage them to respond in a complete sentence (rewording the question into an answer). For example, if the question is, “What is a watershed?” the answer should start with, “A watershed is…”. Here are the answers to these questions for parents.

We will start with what a watershed is:

There are three watersheds in Greater Vancouver and they are places that give us drinking water. Parents this video is only subtitled, so please read it to your child.

Here is a quick video of a reading from me. I had to cut it off a bit, so it ends suddenly.

Listen to Mrs. Nicoll read!

More about our watershed and how water gets to our tap.

We were supposed to take a field trip to the Capilano Reservoir, but sadly will not be going. Here is a good visual of the park. If you get an opportunity to go when the park opens again, it is beautiful and amazing!

Thanks for following along! Now go tell someone what you just learned!
