June 22nd – 24th

June 22nd – 24th

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend. This weekend I relaxed during the rainy Saturday, and spent time with family for Father’s Day.

This weeks plan:

Welcome to Week 10 and our last week of school. This week you can choose your favourite assignment/activity or one you did not complete from the past 9 weeks to do for a fun Music wrap up. (submission of the work is optional)

Submitting Music Class completed work: All student work will be submitted by email to Tarryn.Nastalski@burnabyschools.ca. Some online work can be saved and a link sent. Some online and all offline work can be sent in as videos, pictures or scans (if you have a scanner). Some of our work can be printed off and completed on the printed copy. If you do not have a printer it is fine to complete the work on a regular piece of paper.

I hope you all have a wonderful summer break, and I look forward to hopefully seeing everyone in September!

June 15th – 19th

June 8th – 12th

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I had a busy weekend preparing two rooms in our house to have the floors refinished which is our next renovation project. This project is most likely our last big project that is inside before we add another member to our family this October 😀

This weeks plan:

Welcome to Week 9 and our last official week of Online Music Class. You will find a variety of activities options posted under your grade level. I have given you 1-2 options for this week including a reflection for this year’s music class, or you can choose one that you did not do from last week. You only need to choose 1 activity to complete over the week, but if you wanted to you could do as many of them as you like!

Have a great week, and as always if you have any questions don’t hesitate to send me an email.

As we start to wind down the school year I will be posting fewer options each week and this week have added in some reflections to cap off the year.**

YEAR-END Procedures for Elementary Band

End of Year Instrument Return and Cleaning

YEAR-END Procedures for Elementary Band

Dear Elementary School Band Parent/Guardian,

As the school year draws to a close during these unprecedented circumstances, we would like to inform you of the required year-end procedures for band instruments, whether District owned, privately owned, or rented from a store.

Some of these requirements are quite different from previous years, due to current health concerns.

You will find attached forms with instructions
• for cleaning and preparing District instruments for return,
• for instruments remaining at home,
• for instruments being returned to music stores.

Please scroll through the form attachments to find appropriate information for your situation and particular instrument.

If you have questions, please contact your child’s band teacher.

Thank you for your support of our Grade 6/7 Band Program this year.

Sincerely,
Elementary Band Teachers, Burnaby School District

Band May 11th-22nd

Hello Band Members!

I would like to do a quick check in with everyone to see how things are going, I have attached a Music-Quarantine-Capsule. This assignment needs to be completed by all band members by 3pm Friday the 15th.  Once again, if you do not have a printer you can write your responses on a regular piece of paper.

In addition, this week I will be adding the Dance portion of “Ayre and Dance” into your Smart Music Assignments. Take some time to work on it as we did not spend much or any time on it prior to Spring Break.

Just a quick note about Smart Music, all the assignments posted there have flexible due dates. This means that even if it says it is due by a certain date, you may record and submit it late as well. My goal is for you to show me progress and that you are still working on your instrument and material from home.

As always, feel free contact me with any questions you may have regarding band, Smart Music and the assignments.

Ms. Nastalski

PS: I will have a formal update regarding the end of this years Band, Instrument Returns, and Next Years Band in the next few weeks.

May 11th-15th

You still only need to choose 1 activity to complete and submit for the week, but if you can still do as many as you want 🙂
