Take a tub ,a Baby’s bath tub, plastic tote or big pot that is easy to reach into and<\/p>\n

add salt about 1\/4 full than add<\/p>\n

some funnels and scoops different sized measuring cups.<\/p>\n

or<\/p>\n

You could make it a play\u00a0 scene with rocks, animals, wood…<\/p>\n

Fill the container 1\/4 full of salt and some cinnamon or other smell<\/p>\n

the Child likes.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 Goop, Corn starch and water<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This is a magical potion to work with, as it change it’s texture throughout<\/p>\n

the exploration. It can be hard and\u00a0 solid then change quickly to watery.<\/p>\n

Only two ingredients needed corn starch and water.<\/p>\n

Mixing in a tub deep enough not to spill out but shallow enough to play.<\/p>\n

I f you have an old shower curtain or plastic table cloth, put it under the tub to play.<\/p>\n

The clean up is so easy, just water and your skin will feel so soft after playing in it.<\/p>\n

This can be kept, but not completely covered or it will mold. You can add food coloring for<\/p>\n

added exploration ,drop by drop, the Children will love to do this by themselves.<\/p>\n

If you add too much water it will evaporate over time don’t worry, just play and have FUN!<\/p>\n

Add some items that the mixture can ooze through and be played with, not too many!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Play-dough<\/strong><\/p>\n

2 cups flour, (can use gluten free for children with allergies or intolerance)<\/p>\n

1 cup salt<\/p>\n

2 tablespoons cream of tartar ( can buy at save on foods at highgate in bulk bins)<\/p>\n

3 tablespoons of vegetable oil or (baby oil smells nice)<\/p>\n

2 cups boiled water.<\/p>\n

You can add food coloring, coca , smells. The possibilities are endless.<\/p>\n

Mix dry ingredients together in a bowl.<\/p>\n

Add boiled water, color and or scents together.<\/p>\n

Then add wet ingredients to the dry and mix together.<\/p>\n

Stir and knead until cool and ready to play.<\/p>\n

Play-dough problem solving:<\/strong><\/p>\n

If your dough is too crumbly : add a little more oil<\/strong><\/p>\n

If your play-dough is too sticky<\/strong>:\u00a0add a little more flour<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you want scented play-dough: add herbs, spices, essential oils or food extracts, vanilla or lemon<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you want your play-dough to last a long time: Store<\/strong> it well in a plastic bag or container.<\/strong><\/p>\n

WHAT IS SO GREAT ABOUT PLAY-DOUGH?<\/p>\n

It is for All ages, and Home made is best!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sensory<\/strong>: Playing with dough can be both relaxing and uplifting!<\/p>\n

Wonderful sensory play material that can be added to for more<\/p>\n

exciting sights, smells and textures. Great activity for rainy days<\/p>\n

and or a pre-bedtime relaxing routine.<\/p>\n

Fine motor:<\/strong> With every knead, squash and molding of dough your<\/p>\n

children are working on their fine motor skills , developing strength,<\/p>\n

control and flexibility in their fingers, hands and wrists. This paves<\/p>\n

the way for successfully holding a pencil to write, fastening buttons<\/p>\n

and tying their shoe laces.<\/p>\n

Imagination and free play:<\/strong> By adding in different colors and scents or<\/p>\n

providing props to go with the dough, you’re offering a stimulating environment<\/p>\n

where they can stretch their imaginations and create their own play.<\/p>\n

Math, Language and science:<\/strong> If you make your own play dough, your<\/p>\n

children can count and weigh the ingredients and see domestic science in<\/p>\n

action as the components combine. The variety of materials we use bring lots<\/p>\n

of extra vocabulary into play, lot’s of chat, questions and speech development.<\/p>\n

ONE MORE DOUGH:<\/strong><\/p>\n

CLOUD DOUGH RECIPE;<\/p>\n

Cloud dough is very different from typical play dough.<\/p>\n

It is soft and crumbly, but you can also squish it together<\/p>\n

and it will hold it’s shape. It is Great for making sand castles with.<\/p>\n

4 cups flour<\/p>\n

1 cup vegetable oil or baby oil.<\/p>\n

You can add glitter or powdered paint for shimmer and color!<\/p>\n
