{"id":4449,"date":"2019-03-11T08:33:09","date_gmt":"2019-03-11T15:33:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/milloyd\/?p=4449"},"modified":"2019-03-11T08:33:09","modified_gmt":"2019-03-11T15:33:09","slug":"international-womens-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/milloyd\/2019\/03\/11\/international-womens-day\/","title":{"rendered":"International Women&#8217;s Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>March 8, 2019<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Today is<strong> International Women&#8217;s Day.&nbsp;<\/strong>Every morning, my teacher us a sentence starter for morning circle.<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s starter was &#8220;On International Women&#8217;s Day&#8230;&#8221; There were lots of interesting ideas, but there was one that stood out to me, &#8220;On International Women&#8217;s Day we have to be nice to women.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>That brought a couple thoughts to my mind such as:<\/p>\n<p>~That person made it sound like we&nbsp;<em>have&nbsp;<\/em>to be nice to women, as if it&#8217;s some sort of punishment.<\/p>\n<p>~We should only be nice to women on a particular day?<\/p>\n<p>But when I think about Women&#8217;s Day, I think about all the women that have changed the world, women who are important to me, etc.<\/p>\n<p>So I leave you with some examples of important women who have changed the world:<\/p>\n<p>Malala Yousafzai- Fought for girls education and women&#8217;s rights<\/p>\n<p>Florence Nightingale- First female war-hero nurse<\/p>\n<p>Rosa Parks- Refused to give up her seat to a white person<\/p>\n<p>Michelle Obama- Fought for girls education and women&#8217;s rights<\/p>\n<p>Joan of Arc- Martyr and military leader<\/p>\n<p>Isabella of Castile- The queen of Castile in the 15th century.<\/p>\n<p>Bessie Coleman- Civil aviator<\/p>\n<p>Joan Robinson- Economist<\/p>\n<p>Dowager Empress CIXI of china<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"listicle__title heading-3\">Let me know some important woman to you!<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>March 8, 2019 Today is International Women&#8217;s Day.&nbsp;Every morning, my teacher us a sentence starter for morning circle.
