VSO Connects

My favorite part of the vso connects was the masquerade ball that we did preparing for the masquerade ball wasn’t easy to play the grade five part, it was hard for a while. Making the masks was fun to. My favorite part about my mask was that it kind of looked liked a peacock with it’s feathers. Something else I liked about the vso connects was that we got to meet maestro Bramwell Tovey and hear him play the piano. My favorite piece was the rondo which lasted 90 seconds.

VSO Reflection

The VSO (Vancouver Symphony Orchestra) program is really cool. Each group (of classes) gets this special event for music. My classes program is the Composer’s Trunk. It was about Mozart and his life. Mozart is a great musician who started writing music at a very young age. In the trunk, there was things that represented Mozart. One of the items was a Masquerade mask. To celebrate Mozart my class and another class had a Masquerade ball.

The Masquerade ball was a really different experience that was really interesting for me to be in. Just seeing everyone in masks around you made me feel like I’m in a different place. But really, I was just in the gym. When everyone marched it felt really cool. Then, we played recorder. Hearing and seeing the everyone dance and play recorder was something I really liked. It was very awesome when the parents started dancing around with us.

The Masquerade ball was a moment to remember.

VSO Reflexion

The VSO musician had a beautiful instrument and she was nice and she practises five hours every day. I was really shocked because I think it is a wind instrument  so you have to breath in it and it takes a lots of your breath.

The masquerade party was really fun the parents looked like their having a fun time. when the grade six’s did there parts wit sounded nice and the grade five’s.

VSO reflection

On the day of the masquerade, I was a bit nervous but also excited. I was nervous because I might’ve played the wrong note on recorder or something like that, but in the end it turned out alright. my favourite part about the masquerade was being able to dress up in fancy clothes and wearing masks because it made me feel fancy.

Another one of my favourite parts was when we got to decorate our on masks. There wre four different colours, Red, Blue, Silver, and Gold. My mask was blue, I decorated my mask with feathers, sequins, and glitter. for the masquerade I wore a hi-lo hemline dress, black boots and I curled my hair as well! After we played recorder, we danced to Mozart then hip-hop then Mozart the hip-hop.

It was interesting to dance to a song that had hip-hop and classical music together.
